Hotel room booking


What is the best way to book?

Our SimpleBooking direct booking page can be accessed via this Link or at the top of the website via the "Book" button. There you will get the best price at the best conditions. A booking is done in a few steps and any changes can be made easily. For questions or special requests you can also contact us directly: / 031 333 01 17.

What are the payment and cancellation conditions?

You have the choice between the Standard Rate and the Non-Refundable Rate. For the Standard Rate, you can cancel your reservation free of charge up to 24 hours before arrival (until 12:00 noon the day before). After that, the hotel must charge according to the reservation. The payment will be made at the reception upon departure. The non-refundable rate is slightly cheaper, but cannot be cancelled. Payment is made by credit card at the conclusion of the reservation.

Do I need a credit card for the booking?

A credit card is required for guarantee purposes when booking through the Standard Rate. The credit card will only be charged in the event of a no-show. In case of a reservation through the Non-Refundable Rate, a credit card payment will be made at the conclusion of the booking.


How does the climate compensation of my stay work?
When booking directly, you can optionally offset your CO₂ footprint for your hotel stay in the additional services window. The levy is CHF 0.30 per person per night. This corresponds to an estimate by the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts of CO₂ consumption per guest per night (Table 14) of 11.00 kg at a price of CHF 27.00 per ton of CO₂. The total amount collected is transferred to the myclimate foundation at the end of each year. Myclimate uses the money for carbon offset projects and measures.





How do I arrive by car or train?

Until when is the reception occupied?

The reception is not staffed during the night. In case of arrival after 7 pm / 19:00 we ask for a short notice. Self-check-in is possible by arrangement.


Are parking spaces available and how much do they cost?

A limited number of parking spaces are available free of charge next to the house, but cannot be reserved. Alternatively, there are parking spaces on the street; tickets can be purchased at the streetcar ticket machine or at the reception for CHF 16.00 / 24h.


Can I charge my e-car at the Hotel Jardin Bern?
You are welcome to charge your electric car directly at our in-house charging station. The cost is CHF 0.50 per kWh. It is not possible to reserve the space in advance. Alternatively, there are two additional public e-charging stations just around the corner.


Is public transport free of charge for hotel guests?

Our guests receive digital "Bern Tickets" for free travel on all streetcar and bus lines in the city of Bern inside the zones 100 and 101 during their entire stay. The hotel reservation is already valid on the day of arrival as a ticket for the journey from the train station with streetcar no. 9.


How does the BernTicket work?

You will receive a digital BernTicket for free public transport during your entire stay. 2 - 3 days before arrival you will receive an email from us with information about your booking and your code for the BernTicket. Download the Bern Welcome App from the Android Play Store or the Apple App Store and redeem your code. You will receive one code per person. You can choose to load all tickets on one smartphone or one per device. Alternatively, if you have trouble redeeming the code, you can use your booking confirmation to travel free of charge from Bern train station to our location (to stop Breitenrain with streetcar no. 9). If you do not have the possibility to download the app, we will be happy to print out a paper Bern Ticket for you at the reception instead.



Hotel Stay


What is the check-in / check-out time?

The check-in time is 2 pm / 14:00. If you wish to arrive earlier than 2 pm / 14:00, please let us know. We will then prefer your room for an earlier check-in. If the room is not ready yet, you can already deposit your luggage and park your car. The check-out time is 11 am / 11:00.


Is breakfast included? From when to when is it?

Breakfast is included for all our hotel guests. For non-hotel guests the price is CHF 22.00 per person. For groups please book in advance. The morning meal is from 7 am / 7:00 to 10 am / 10:00. Earlier is usually also possible, ask us for it.

I am vegetarian/vegan or have a food intolerance or allergy. Are there any options for me?

We have a selection of vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free products. Feel free to inform us in advance so that alternative products are certainly available for you.


Does Hotel Jardin Bern have a restaurant or bar?

We do not have a restaurant, there is a nice selection of good restaurants in the nearby area and the old town. We do not have a bar, through the day we are happy to serve you with drinks in the lobby. Our guests have access to beverage refrigerators and coffee makers in the hallways and a stocked kettle in the room.


Is a baby bed available?

On request we will be happy to provide you with a baby bed including bed linen in your room.


Does the Hotel Jardin Bern have air conditioning?

We do not have air conditioning, during the summer guests have fans in all rooms.


Are pets allowed?

Pets are welcome in our hotel. The cost per pet is CHF 14.00 per night. Pets can be conveniently added when making a reservation. Pets are not allowed in the breakfast room. If your four-legged companion does not like to be left alone in the room, we can prepare your morning meal in the lobby.



Hotel booking during trade fairs, exhibitions and events


I would like to make a booking of several rooms during a trade fair. What is the procedure?

During events at the nearby BERNEXPO site or the stadions, not all rooms are normally bookable online. We ask you to email us directly with the details of your desired reservation.


Is there guaranteed parking at the hotel during events?

Our parking spaces are free of charge, but limited. Please note that there is no guarantee of a parking space and spaces cannot be reserved. During events, it is advisable to arrive by public transport if possible (free use of local transport for hotel guests available). Alternatively, there are paid parking facilities at the fair, or a ticket for CHF 16.00 / 24h for the white / blue zone can be purchased at the reception.



Organize event


I am interested in organizing an event in the Great Hall. What is the procedure?

The Hall can be used for many purposes and therefore events are always very individual. We kindly ask you to send us an e-mail with your detailed wishes.


Is food and beverage service provided?

We offer a beverage service. We do not have a restaurant or kitchen. Food would have to be arranged through an outside caterer.


Are music and party events possible?

Events with moderate music are possible by arrangement; unfortunately, party events are not.


How big is The Hall / for how many people is it suitable?

The Hall has an area of 230 m² / 2476 sq ft, as well as a surrounding gallery and a theater stage. The hall is suitable for up to approx. 100 - 150 people, depending on the seating.


What technical equipment is available?

We have basic technical equipment that can be rented. This includes beamer / screen, standing desk with microphone, radio microphone and flipcharts.
